Band Scene: Cliffhangers

It's been a while, as I've been transitioning to college life. Now I'm all setup, and a thought entered my head today to start the blog up again. One subject I have yet to discuss is the new up and coming band scene. Now of course, anyone can hit up music.download.com or iTunes 100 new releases to see the latest music market additions. Over the next few weeks I'll be posting several other upcoming bands to check out.

Mute Math-

The name conjures up a nerdy rock quartet. Well, this New Orleans group defies genres and labeling. Led by a Keytar/Rhodes/Vocalist Paul Meany, Mute Math creates a sound unlike anything out there today. Soaring vocals laid over spacey guitar riffs, funky basslines and breakbeat type drumming, their songs could be classified as anythign from post-punk, alternative electronica, or rock anthems. They just finished up a statewide tour for their self titled CD; many of the shows were logged in a video podcast from their myspace site.
